During today's Shariatpur District liberation period, there was a part of Madaripur Subdivision. The region of Madaripur Mahakumara was called Eastern Madaripur, with the districts of Vedanganj, Naria, Gosairhat, Jazira and Palang Thana. Which was later formed in 1978 in the region and a subdivision. According to the fate of the Faraizi movement, the newly formed Mahakuma was named Shariatpur after the name of Haji Shariatullah. In the process of promoting all the subdivisions of the district in 1986, the administrative activities started in Shariatpur district. Madaripur Mahakuma was liberated during liberation war on December 10, 1971 but East Madaripur region was liberated on October 15, 1971. After 15 October, there was no presence or operation of the Pak army and their associates Razakar, Al-Badr, Alsamas in Shariatpur district, then East Madaripur region. Nariya upazila of shariatpur district is liberated on 23 June'71. Naria Police Station's president and chairman of Nariya Union, Ali Ahmed Munshi's house was attacked on 23 June'71 and three people including Ali Munshi and Dai One were killed. Then there was no presence or operation of Pak army and their associates Razakar, Al-Badr, Alsamas in Naria thanas.
Madaripur municipal council member Dr. Abul Kashem, AD Abidur Reza Khan, Finnibusan Majumdar, Hasmat Ali Khan, Provincial Council member Abdur Razzak, Ali Ahmed Khan and Aminul Islam Danesh announced Madaripur Mahakumah as head of the Mukti Bahini at a meeting. In this headquarters, Colonel (retd) Shawkat Ali (then Captain) took charge of Mukti Bahini. The government gave him the title of Bir Bikram for his achievements in the liberation war. During this time, Stuart Mujib was assisted by his teammate. Madaripur Subdivision is divided into two parts in Madaripur and East Madaripur as a strategy of warfare. Area Commander Yunus Ali Khan Mitali of Naria-Palang Police Station area, later Area Commander Master Didarul Islam was given charge of Naria-Palang Police Station area. Besides, the responsibility of the Nariya thana commander S M, Kamal Uddin Montu was given. Lieutenant Colonel Late Alamgir Hawlader, Mizanur Rahman Rari (Babul Rari) and Shafiqur Rahman (Bachchu) were given the responsibility of Nariya police station in Mujib Bahini for political reasons.
On 22 June 1971, Narayan Police Station was attacked. The attack was planned by Yunus Ali Khan Mitali. He was accompanied by SM Kamal Uddin Montu, Rawshan Ali and James Babul and some others. On 23 June'71 Nariya thana peace committee chairman and chairman of Nariya Union Ali Akadem Munshi took charge of the house and wireless set-up. Inside the police station, Hafez and Rasheed and Al-Jalil Biparas stayed in the night. Hafiz Alauddin and Yunus Ali, James Babul, SM Kamal Uddin Montu and Raoshan Ali were present in the police station. On June 23, Ali Munshir's house was responsible for Dr. Kanchan. James Babul Wireless Set and Yunus Ali Khan Mitali Thana Accordingly, the attack on 23 June'71 was the same time. According to the plan, the south east of the thana and liberation war on the west took position. Before the attack, the enemy forces were asked to surrender. But they did not surrender counter-bullets. It is a tremendous struggle. In this war, 7/8 people including Pak Attendant, Rajakar were killed. Here, 350 rounds, including 7 rifles, captured liberation war. Abdul Jalil and Hafez Rashid are martyred in this war. On the other hand, Dr. Kanchan Ali attacked the Munshi house with his companions. There were three dead, including Ali Munshi and Dai One. The house came under the control of liberation war. Then there was no presence or operation of Pak army and their associates Razakar, Al-Badr, Alsamas in Naria thanas.
On May 22, 1971, the Pakistani army burnt Nasima Akter, a young girl from Madaripur, Nuria Bastala Momin Ali Bepari's house and a young girl living in her house. At present, Nasima graveyard was renovated by Nabi municipal deputy speaker, Colonel (retd) Shawkat Ali, and municipal mayor Mohammad Haider Ali repaired the grave. Besides, several houses, including the residence of Ali Fakir, Moktar Park, burnt down the shop of Solomon's shop in Naria Bazaar. Besides, the shopkeeper of Ghorishara Bazar, Khalilur Rahman Lakuria, the son of Bir Muktijodhaba A Rashid Lakuriyar, and burned a few 8/10 shops including a shop at a Hindu trader's shop and burned his shop. Apart from killing, rape and mass looting of Al-Badr and Razakars in different areas of Hindu society of Naria thana.
