Background of Naria Upazila Administration

The historical foundation of the name of Naria, named "Nariya", was not found. It is said that according to the name of Char Nariya, the largest mouza of this area.At present, Naria Upazila consists of 14 unions. Geographically, Naria Upazila is located at 23.25 degree north latitudes and longitude 90.18 degrees east from 21.14 degree. Lauhajang and Tungibari upazilas of Jazira and Munshiganj districts on the north, Shariatpur Sadar and Bhedoranj upazilas on the south, Bhedarganj and Munshiganj Sadar upazilas on the east and Jazira upazila on the west.
